This week members had two activities again, to construct a tower from paper that was capable of holding three full soda cans and to make a motor.
Girls worked together to construct towers, most remembered that tubes were the strongest structure last week and started with this. The problem many found was making them stand!
Next the girls were provided with a poly cup, 2 paper clips, a magnet, some insulated wire, electrical cables, croc clips and a battery and they had to workout hoe to construct a motor. The year 10 girls that help at Girls STEAM Ahead did a fabulous job of providing the girls with ideas to help them. Eventually the first group made a moving motor and the others soon followed. Well done STEAM club!
